Wilfred Ngwa, MS, PhD has won 17 prestigious awards and honors over the past five years from Harvard, the United States National Institutes of Health, and international professional societies and organizations for his leading efforts in global health. His work has led to the establishment of new healthcare institutions and cancer centers in low and middle income countries. He has also trained thousands of healthcare professionals, and established win-win collaborations for global health and economic development. He also is:
- Director of the International Phytomedicine and Medical Cannabis Institute launched at Harvard in 2019
- A Distinguished Professor of Public Health ICT
- Director of the Global Health Catalyst at Johns Hopkins and founding Director of the same program launched at Harvard Radcliffe institute in 2015 with afocus on catalyzing high impact collaborations for global health and development
- Chair of the Lancet Oncology Commission for Sub-Saharan Africa
- Founder of the Global Oncology University, an award-winning collaborative education model that offers everyone access to the same world class education and training available from professors at the world’s best institutions.
- Co-Director of the Africa-Oxford-Harvard (AfrOX-H) Clinical Trials network
- Currently serves as Advisor for the USA government on Global Health
